Much better now - Instalation in foyer

Martin Krupa (CZ) Sofía Vélez (UK)

If you woke up tomorrow transformed into an animal, what animal would it be? No, not what kind of animal would you like to be, but what would you really be?

Saturday 4. 11. 2023
20:00
Vernissage November 10, 2023
Foyer of Archa Theatre

The installation is a combination of textual, optical and auditory elements of the emerging solo performance of the British artist Sofía Vélez. The work is created under the umbrella of the Centre for Documentary Theatre in the space of Stodolio 71. It is a metaphor for a meeting space and the experience of social exclusion. The installation documents the theme of future performance. In the form of a torn, layered and unconventional style, Vélez comments on attitudes towards social classes and queerness. The emerging documentary theatre production combines projection, soundscape, movement, dance and spoken text. The production MUCH BETTER NOW will have its premiere in Stodolio 71, in the premises of ARCHA - Centre for Documentary Theatre, in May 2024. The next performance will then take place as part of Akcent 2024.
