Filip Topol & Agon Orchestra

Wednesday 4. 10. 2023
20:00

Tickets available via Archa Theatre and GoOut.cz

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the day Filip Topol left us. 22 years ago, in the summer of 2001, we made a recording of Agon Orchestra with Filip Topol at the suggestion of Ondrej Hrab at the Archa Theatre. Petr Kofroň chose 11 songs from the then already quite extensive discography of Psi Vojáci, which he arranged for an 18-member orchestra. Filip was a bit rhythmically unsure, as he had no rhythmic support in his piano, so we recorded the whole orchestra first and his solo singing with the help of playback. However, only a few of the opening songs were recorded from the whole album, which we then christened at a concert in the Archa Theatre and released on Indies the following year. Only now will we hear the complete performance. It is therefore a Czech premiere, because the performance at the Mikulov festival in August 2023 was interrupted by a storm and the programme was not heard in full. The original ProTools files were found in the Archa, where Filip's voice is preserved in dediacated tracks. The files could not be completely retrieved from the old burned CDs, however, sound master Ondřeji Ježek reconstructed Filip's voice, so Filip will sing with us from a sound sampler accompanied by a live orchestra, just as it was in 2001.
